Music Together® Family Class

Music Together Family Class ~ For mixed ages; newborn - 5 years...and their grown-ups!
The cornerstone of the Music Together program is the Mixed-Age music class.Classes are active music-making experiences, designed to teach the way children learn: through play. Each week, a trained Music Together teacher leads the class in singing, dancing and playing songs that range from sweet lullabies to rocking jams using child friendly percussion instruments, like egg shakers, rhythm sticks, gathering drums & more! These activities are presented as informal musical experiences - developmentally appropriate for children and easy for parents & caregivers, regardless of their own musical ability! Our primary teaching method is to include children, newborn through age 5 in the same class. This creates a family atmosphere, enabling siblings to attend together and children with special needs, too. This allows every child the freedom to participate as they choose, without being burdened by age specific expectations.

Families receive a Music Together songbook - a different song collection for each semester - as well as our Music Together app and a code that gives access to all of the songs we are using in class. This allows for the music learning - and FUN to continue at home or wherever you listen to music! Our 9-week spring semester starts the week of April 20. Classes meet once a week for 45 minutes.

In the Music Together for Babies class, for infants from birth through 8 months, you'll engage in musical activities designed especially for babies! We sing, clap, dance & laugh! We make music with rhythmic insturuments like egg shakers and gathering drums. We move to the music with scarves & a colorful parachute...all the while creating the most magical bond with your baby! You will be connecting with other babies & their parents, too! You will learn to recognize musical beheavior so you can support their development at the time when your baby's brain is at it's most receptive. Families receive a songbook and code to access the music that we teach in class on any device; at home, in the car, anywhere you listen to music!
